Laminate flooring is a popular choice for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and other busy areas thanks to its durability, easy maintenance and wide choice of designs.

SPC flooring has a rigid, highly stable core and is an excellent choice for busy households and areas where moisture resistance is important.

Yes, many of the floors available from Floorlane are suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, particularly SPC and waterproof LVT ranges.

For kitchens, we recommend choosing a floor with good water and wear resistance. For bathrooms, always check that the specific product has been approved by the manufacturer for use in that environment.

Standard laminate is generally not suitable for kitchens or bathrooms unless specifically stated by manufacturer.

Start by measuring the length and width of your room in metres and multiplying the two figures together. This will give you the floor area in square metres (m²).

We recommend ordering a little more than the exact room measurement to allow for cuts, offcuts and fitting around doorways and corners.

For most straightforward installations, allowing around 10% extra is a sensible starting point. More complex layouts, diagonal installations and patterns such as herringbone may require a larger allowance. This has been made easier for our customers at Floorlane. It can also be worth keeping a few spare boards after installation in case you ever need to replace a damaged plank in the future.

That depends on the flooring you choose. Most click-fit laminate flooring requires a suitable underlay unless the product already has one attached. Underlay can help with sound reduction, insulation and supporting the floor correctly.

Some SPC and click LVT floors come with built-in underlay, while others require a specific type of underlay. Glue-down LVT is normally installed directly onto a suitably prepared subfloor rather than over traditional flooring underlay.

Always follow the requirements shown on the individual Floorlane product page or the manufacturer’s fitting instructions.

Many laminate, SPC and LVT floors can be used with underfloor heating, but compatibility varies between products.

The flooring, underlay and heating system all need to work together correctly, so it is important to check the product specifications before installation. You should also follow any maximum temperature and installation guidance provided by the flooring and underfloor-heating manufacturers..

The accessories you need will depend on the flooring and the room, but a typical installation may require underlay, expansion spacers, threshold bars, door profiles, scotia or edging trims.

Depending on your subfloor and flooring type, you may also need a damp-proof membrane, flooring adhesive or floor preparation products.
